Borovets was the first Bulgarian resort to attract tourists to Bulgaria’s ski slopes. Situated less than an hour from the capital Sofia, the town was established in 1896 and offers a good varied level of skiing on the Rila Mountains. Set at a height of 1390 metres and with skiing up to 2600 metres it boasts an excellent snow record.
A mix of traditional Bulgarian buildings and large resort hotels welcome you and it still offers exceptional value for the budget skier.
There are 45kms of slopes, but this is planned to double in the future with the completion of the Super Borovets Project which is now underway.
